Fodder Beet

Fodder beet is a popular crop in New Zealand. Fodder beet produces high yielding crops that provide a highly palatable, energy rich food source for stock. A critical component to growing a high yielding fodder beet crop is weed control. Fodder beet is a slow to establish crop and is very susceptible to weed competition especially in the first 8 weeks. Bayer has a number of herbicides that can be used in beet crops. These include Nortron, Betanal quattro and Betanal Forte.

Bayer also produces the popular beet fungicide Escolta.

Fodder beet has become an increasingly popular option for New Zealand farmers over the last 10 years. Fodder beet provides impressive yields of high quality energy rich feed which can be utilized during the difficult winter months.
