Jonathon (Jonno) Shields
Based in Christchurch, Jonno’s role covers all of New Zealand and helps bridge the gap between pre and commercial launch of new products.
He works closely with all aspects of the Bayer business including Sales, Marketing and Field Solutions in order to support the successful launch of new products to the market.
This involves late pre-registration and early post-registration technical support including trial work, demonstrations, training and industry collaboration.
Key to Jonno’s role is developing an understanding of new products and then engaging with customers, merchants and farmers in the field. It’s all about sharing knowledge and expertise.
Since joining Bayer in 2017, he has been involved with much of the early pre-registration trial work for SDHI fungicides, new herbicides and a number of other products in the pipeline that are nearing registration and launch.
Jonno’s area of expertise is primarily in arable crops, fodder and pasture with some background in horticulture and viticulture.
Before joining Bayer he worked for Elders Rural Services as a Sales Agronomist in Mudgee, central west NSW, Australia.
